Background: Da Capo II was originally an adult visual novel game developed by Circus. It is the second game in their Da Capo series and was released in 2006. The anime adaptation first aired in 2007 and was directed by Hideki Okamoto (Nagasarete Airantou). Da Capo II has also expanded into other media such as novels and manga.

| Anime Summary / Synopsis: The Story of Da Capo II also takes place, like the first series, on Hatsunejima island, a fictional place set in Japan. The story occurs 53 years after the events of the first series. The sisters Yuma and Otome Asakura are actually the granddaughters of Junichi Asakura and Nemu Asakura from the first Da Capo series. Sakura Yoshino and Junichi are the only returning characters in Da Capo II. Sakura is now the principle of the Kazemi high school and still looks like a child despite being old enough to be a grandmother. The male protagonist is Yoshiyuki Sakurai, and like his grandfather Junichi, has the magical ability to make sweets out of nothing. He lives with the Asakura sisters though they are not related by blood. One morning, he has a dream about a girl who confesses to him under an ancient sakura tree. He is waken up by Yume, but forgets who the girl in his dream is. It is time for the school festival and Toshiyuki’s childhood friend, Koko Tsukishima, asks him to accompany her for the day. They end up hanging out with all their friends but at the end of the day, thanks to Koko’s girlfriends, Koko ends up alone with Yoshiyuki. She takes him to an old sakura tree they always played underneath during their childhood. There, she confesses her love to Yoshiyuki, who realizes it is exactly what he had saw in his dream.
