Binbou Shimai Monogatari anime synopsis / summary Kyo Yamada and her younger sister Asu live by themselves in a 40 year old apartment. Their mother died while giving birth to Asu and their father has run away because of a large gambling debt he accumulated. Kyo is still a junior high student, yet she takes on part-time jobs such as her early morning paper route in order to support herself and Asu. The sisters have a very close bond and are happy despite being poor. While Kyo takes care of the money problems, Asu helps out by doing the cleaning chores and preparing the meals. Fortunately, their kind neighbours and friends often help them out. And although the Yamada sisters are unaware, their mother is always watching over them as a guardian angel. Her dying promise was to come to their aide when times are tough and make sure their sibling bond always remains strong.
